It's All About the Government...and they're here to help
Maine small businesses sell over $100 million in goods and services to the government market. If you want to make selling to the government a part of your overall business plan, this seminar will educate you and give you the technical tools needed to get started. You will be introduced to new resources to help you find technical assistance.
The information in this half-day program is part of MESDA's efforts to help Maine small businesses obtain government contracts with the Department of Defense, other Federal Agencies, state/local governments and prime contractors.
This half-day seminar focuses on government contracting and how to tap into an extensive pool of technical resources. MESDA expects this seminar will increase the interest and awareness of opportunities in Business to Government sales.
This half-day seminar includes three sessions:
James Krouse of INPUT, will discuss his organization's annual Federal and State/Local IT Market Forecast.
Pat Rice, Project Manager, Market Development Center, will explain how to start the process of doing business with the government.
Beth Bornick, Director, Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) will introduce a FREE service designed to provide engineering assistance and speed the transfer of space technology to the private sector..

SATOP can provide up to 40 hours of FREE technical assistance for qualified requests, utilizing the vast engineering expertise of NASA and our participating Alliance Partners (NASA contractors, sub-contractors or Universities).
Learn how SATOP works, and how to submit a Request for Technical Assistance. SATOP is designed to speed the transfer of US Space Program knowledge and technology to the private sector, to provide economic benefits to the community, and to raise public awareness of the Space Program.

Beth Bornick, Director Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program
Beth is the Director of the Northeast SATOP Center, based in Syracuse, NY. Before joining SATOP, Beth held sales positions at Network Engines, a manufacturer of Internet server hardware, and CNC Software, Inc., a leading developer of computer-aided design and manufacturing software. Beth holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University, and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Pat has worked with technology-based companies for four years at the Market Development Center, Maine’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center. She has first hand experience working with companies trying to get on the GSA Schedules.
James Krouse, Manager, State & Local Market Analysis INPUT
Prior to joining INPUT, Mr. Krouse was the Director of Marketing and Business Development for American Management Systems (AMS) eCommerce Solutions, in the ASP hosted environment for B2G and B2I market segments. Before AMS, James led market research, product development, project management and marketing efforts as a Vice President with Citibank Electronic Financial Services, Inc., helping to establish Citibank as the market leader in Government EFT and associated IT applications. Mr. Krouse’s extensive career in government services began as a Policy Analyst, later becoming the Washington Director and Federal Liaison, for the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers (NASACT), leading national State Government efforts in research and representation of government financial policy, IT development, and eGovernment applications.
