Maine's Software & Information Technology Industry Association hosts a yearly conference offering outstanding opportunities to receive industry-wide visibility. This is the largest gathering of Maine technology professionals. The 2007 Conference will include educational workshops, and acclaimed keynote speakers. Previous speakers have included: Eric S. Raymond, President of the Open Source Initiative; Mark Resch, President and CEO of CommerceNet; Jon "maddog" Hall, the "official Linux Evangelist"; Danese Cooper, Sun's Open Source Diva; Tom DeMarco, the foremost leader in the Theory & Practice of Software Development; Bob Metcalfe, inventor of Ethernet; Dave Winer, a pioneer in Web-based Publishing Systems; and Dan Bricklin, creator of the electronic spreadsheet.
